Caption: Spin coherence and impurity handling in different semiconductor materials. A single carrier trapped by individual donors or acceptors in semiconductors is a promising qubit because it combines the advantages of both semiconductor and atomic systems. The goal of our project is to study the decoherence mechanisms operating in the system and possible schemes for manipulation of a single spin qubit and entanglement of two spin qubits. (The spin qubit illustration – Bloch sphere – is taken from Chem. Soc. Rev. 2018, 47, 501).
