2D materials are an emerging class of low-dimensional materials that are promise as being the building blocks for the next generation of miniaturized electronics and optoelectronics devices. Since the discovery of graphene, thousands of 2D materials have been discovered or predicted. Among them, monoelemental (such as silicene) or binary compounds (such as transition metal dichalcogenides) are the subject of an intensive research. The team is expert in the synthesis of such bidimensional crystals by physical or chemical methods. We study their growth, structure and optical and optoelectronic properties, as well as their functionalization and their integration into electrical devices.
