Ultrafast Time-Resolved Spectroscopy

This platform is an ultrafast optics platform developed with the support of the Île-de-France region and Sorbonne University. It enables physical and chemical processes to be explored in real time on ultra-short timescales, with a very high temporal resolution of a few tens of femtoseconds.

Experiences

The platform consists of a laser chain feeding various measurement stations.

The laser chain is based on an amplified Ti:Sa laser (5mJ, 800 nm, 35 fs, 1 kHz). Two OPAs are available, covering the UV-visible (240 nm-2600 nm) and mid-infrared (1.14-15 µm) ranges.

Measurement techniques:

  • broadband transient absorption spectroscopy,
  • two-wavelength pump-probe absorption/reflection wavelengths,
  • time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect.
